Disinformation, misinformation are national security threats; let's be careful of 'breaking news' journalism — IGP to journalists

The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has emphasised the critical need for journalists to verify and cross-check information before disseminating it. Speaking at a summit organised by Ghana Report in Accra on Thursday, August 1, 2024, the IGP cautioned against the eagerness to break news without proper verification from reliable sources.
