Rangers RHP Max Scherzer set for 50-pitch start at Triple-A

Rangers right-hander Max Scherzer makes his first start since undergoing back surgery on Wednesday night with Texas' Triple-A affiliate, opening what is expected to be a significant rehab period before he's activated by the MLB club.
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Scherzer would be on a strict pitch count of around 50. He threw 40 pitches in a simulated game on Friday.
