Nolan Arenado suspended 2 games for role in Mets melee
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado was suspended two games and pitcher Genesis Cabrera one game for their roles in Wednesday's benches-clearing melee against the New York Mets.
The suspensions were set to begin Thursday night for the Cardinals' home game against the Arizona Diamondbacks but Arenado chose to appeal and was in the starting lineup.
Cabrera opted not to appeal, according to Bally Sports West.
