Softball Australia appoints Adam Rindfleish as head coach of the Men's National Team

Softball Australia has announced the appointment of Adam Rindfleish as the new Head Coach of the Australian Men’s National Team – the Aussie Steelers.

“I’m honoured to lead the Steelers program and work with Australia’s best athletes to achieve sustained success on the global stage,” said Rindfleish. “Our focus will be on high-performance excellence, athlete wellbeing, and continuing the proud tradition of Australian men’s softball.”

Across more than three decades in softball as a player, coach, and administrator, Rindfleish has contributed to eight World Championship campaigns, securing three World Titles and a silver medal. Most recently, he served as Assistant Coach for the Aussie Steelers at the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup Finals 2025, and as Head Coach for the U-18 Men’s Team in the 2025 New Zealand Test Series. His experience spans national and state programs, where he has led teams to multiple national titles and mentored athletes through high-performance pathways.

Rindfleish will lead the Australian squad in their next World Cup campaign in 2028/2029 as Australia pursues its third Men’s Softball World Cup title, having won previously in 2009 in Saskatoon, Canada, and in 2023 in Auckland, New Zealand.

“Adam’s appointment marks the beginning of a new performance cycle for the Steelers programme,” said Sarah Loh, Chief Executive Officer of Softball Australia. “His proven leadership, deep knowledge of the game, and commitment to athlete development will drive Australia’s continued success on the international stage. We look forward to seeing the team thrive under his guidance.”

The appointment is part of Softball Australia’s Perform pillar under its five-year strategic plan, which prioritises world-class systems, integrity, and athlete development. Rindfleish will oversee the Steelers’ high-performance programme, including individual athlete development plans, coaching staff management, and preparation for international competition.

In 2025, Australia finished seventh both in the World Cup Finals held in Prince Albert, Canada; and The World Games Chengdu 2025, with Mike Titheradge as Head Coach.
