Bar Blues Take Lead And Never Look Back In Win Over AHI Reapers
Bar Blues won big over AHI Reapers 7-0 on Friday at Circle Tap Bar & Grill. Bar Blues opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two home runs. Bar Blues first got on the board when Sam Nieman homered to left field, scoring two runs.
Christian Pacheco started in the circle for Bar Blues. The hurler surrendered three hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out six and walking two. Agustin Fernandez stepped in the circle first for AHI Reapers. The pitcher surrendered five hits and four runs (three earned) over four innings, striking out seven and walking none. Dominic Marchio, Tyler Olinske, John (Jack) Sommers, and Simon Maurice each collected two hits for Bar Blues. Sam Nieman went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Bar Blues didn’t commit a single error in the field. Tyler Olinske had the most chances in the field with six. Kyle Roberts, Parker Hopkins, and Richard Charging Hawk each collected one hit for AHI Reapers. Bar Blues play at home on Saturday against LC Ostrander Norsemen in their next game.

HoneyBadgers topped The Bar Buzz, 7-6 on Friday at Circle Tap Bar & Grill. The Bar Buzz were the first to get on the board in the first when Maty Zelinka induced Blair Ezekiel to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored. Filip Kucirek homered to center field following a 7-pitch at-bat, which helped HoneyBadgers tie the game at one in the top of the second.
A single by Mason VanRossum gave The Bar Buzz the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the second. Alejandro Albarenga singled down the right field line, which helped HoneyBadgers tie the game at three in the top of the third. A fielder’s choice by Justin Colombo gave The Bar Buzz the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the third. HoneyBadgers took the lead, 6-4, in the top of the fourth thanks to singles by Juan Masset, and Alejandro Albarenga.
William Schaufuss hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the seventh for The Bar Buzz. Michal Holobradek led things off in the circle for The Bar Buzz. The pitcher surrendered 10 hits and seven runs (four earned) over seven innings, striking out 12 and walking none. Maty Zelinka stepped in the circle first for HoneyBadgers. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and five runs over three and one-third innings, striking out three and walking six. Mason VanRossum led The Bar Buzz with two runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. Mason VanRossum went 1-for-3 on the day. Jordan Plamann and William Schaufuss each collected two hits for The Bar Buzz. Ryan Sinclair led The Bar Buzz with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Alejandro Albarenga drove the middle of the lineup, leading HoneyBadgers with three runs batted in. The infielder went 3-for-4 on the day. Juan Masset and Lukas Kubat each collected multiple hits for HoneyBadgers. HoneyBadgers turned two double plays in the game. The Bar Buzz welcome Kegel Black Knights on Saturday for their next game.
