WBSC U-15 Women's Softball World Cup Opening Round stats review: USA lead the way
After an exhilarating four days of Opening Round action at the WBSC U-15 Women's Softball World Cup 2025, it may not be a surprise to many that defending champions USA dominated not only their games - scoring 61 runs in five victories and conceding only one to Chinese Taipei in their opening game - but also the tournament statistics.
The World No. 1 programme showcased an unstoppable lineup with USA hitters combining for 56 hits, including four home runs, with a .591 batting average and a 1.387 OPS.

Puerto Rico is the second-best batting average with .398 and among the teams qualified for the Super Round, only Japan is the other one with a .300+ batting average (.323).
Puerto Rico, Japan and Australia are the only other teams who hit home runs. They had one each.
USA also had impressive pitching. They didn't allow a run in 21 innings, striking out 26. The opponents could manage only five hits against them, with a batting average of .077.
Japan has the second-best ERA (0.23; the opponents combined a .131 batting average), followed by Puerto Rico (1.99-.169), Czechia (3.42 - .279), Mexico (4.15 - .265) and Chinese Taipei (5.31 - .300).
