<p>Chinese Taipei swept their doubleheader today with an 11-5 victory over the Netherlands and remains unbeaten in the WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup. The Asian squad connected 15 hits in the game.</p>

<p>Ching-Yu Chen was the starting pitcher for Chinese Taipei and the winner of the game. She tossed 5.1 innings while giving up five hits, three runs and two walks, with one strikeout.</p>

<p>World No. 2 USA claimed today their second win in the tournament this Tuesday in Lima, Peru, an 8-0 victory over No. 40 Colombia in five innings. Karli Spaid lead the way in the US line-up with a three run homer in the first inning.</p>

<p>USA scored five runs in the first inning, incluiding Spaid’s bomb to right field. Errin Coffel, Viollet Zavodnik and Megan Grant had multi-hit games for USA, hitting six of eight US hits.</p>

<p>A masterpiece by starting pitcher Hsia-Ai Ke kept Puerto Rico off the scoreboard and gave Chinese Taipei their second win in the tournament. The Asian squad defeated Puerto Rico, 4-0, in the first game of the WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup day 2. The right hander struck out four while allowing four hits and a walk, in a complete game performance.</p>

<p>Chinese Taipei scored their first two runs in the fourth frame, and added two more on an RBI-triple off the bat of leadoff hitter Hsin-Yun Li, who then scored on an RBI single by Yi-Hsuan Chiu.</p>
