[Softball] Softball Does Not Qualify for Conference Tournament

The Lady Bearcats came up short in Conference play this season.  Only the top 6 teams out of 10 qualify for the tournament.  The team started off very slow, although they played a very tough schedule, they held their own with some very strong teams.  Conference play started off with some unexpected loses.  We diffently took some bumps and bruises but continued to get better and most importantingly came together as a team.  We filled a few key postions which helped tremendously defensive wise.  Our pitching, with the exception of a few rough innings, held their own and did everything we asked of them.  Unfortunately our bats were too sporadic.  We either approached games with hunger and got hit after hits or completely came not ready to play.  It is a very young team so we expected some of the challenges that we would have but we just never put everything together at the right times and consistently to qualify for the Conference Tournament.  We definitely met our goal of winning more games and playing as a team but we still have a lot of work to do before next season.  Our goal coming into next season is to win at least 50% of our games and not only qualify for the tournament but WIN it.  We have a talented bunch of players and almost all of them will be returning next year so we only see positive things in the future.
