OMAHA, Neb. – Any softball team will tell you that playing eight games in just five days is a tall task that is bound to wear you down after a while. Midland University's softball team nearly made it out of that gauntlet with a perfect conference record, but faltered just at the very end.
The No. 20 Warriors (19-5, 9-1 GPAC) swept both Dakota Wesleyan and (RV) Jamestown last Friday and Saturday before traveling to play road doubleheaders with Dordt and College of Saint Mary on Monday and Tuesday. Midland swept the Defenders in a pair of narrow wins, but suffered a lopsided loss in game two versus CSM on Tuesday, earning a split with the Flames.
