[Softball] Tigers open 2018 with two wins
Georgetown College softball opened the 2018 season in style – a pair of run-rule shortened games Tuesday at Tiger Softball Complex hosting Union College.
Chaselyn Allgeier started the afternoon off with a double and scored the first run of the year on an Alli Watson single. The Tigers (2-0) went on for an 11-3 win in six innings. Watson's sharp hitting continued as she ended game two with a two-RBI double for a 10-1 win in six innings.
Allgeier (4-for-4 with four runs and two RBI) and pitcher Hannah Morton (2-for-3 with a run offensively and nine strikeouts defensively) led the way in game one. Allgeier from the leadoff spot had a double, triple and a stolen base. She reached base and scored every time, including the winning run in the bottom of the second.
