[Women's Basketball] UST's Hopkins notches career high and second RRAC weekly women's hoops award
WACO, Texas – Sheridan Hopkins of the University of St. Thomas (Texas) earned her second RRAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor of the season with her play over the dates of Nov. 20-26. This is the conference's third weekly award of the 2017-18 basketball season.
Hopkins recorded a career-high 41 points to lead the Celts to a 102-96 victory over Texas Wesleyan University on Sunday. The sophomore guard grabbed eight rebounds while sinking 14-of-21 shots from the field and 12-of-13 from the free throw line. In the process, the Celts set new single-game school records for points and assists (30). Hopkins, a native of Galveston, Texas, has now scored in double-figures in five straight games. She leads the NAIA in scoring with 24.8 points per game. UST improved to 4-1 on the season.
