An Arizona Ski Resort Just Extended the Season, and Tickets Are Only $12

0 1

Closing day? Guess again.

Arizona Snowbowl ostensibly finished out the season last weekend, but thanks to a promising snow forecast that could see seven inches of flakes falling, the resort’s running it back one more time.

On Tuesday, April 14, and Wednesday, April 15, 2026, Arizona Snowbowl is hosting an unconventional last hurrah. Rather than a final weekend, it’s a final two days in the middle of the week.

True to character, lift tickets are dirt cheap. While they might go up in price by the time you read this, they’re now listed at $12 a pop.

To put that number into context: for the cost of a mid-season ticket somewhere else, you could buy around 20 tickets to Arizona Snowbowl this week.

Aside from Arapahoe Basin, Arizona Snowbowl was open longer than any mountain destination in Colorado this year.

In recent seasons, Arizona Snowbowl has developed a reputation for pushing the season-length envelope. Last winter, it made it until June 1. That’s no small feat for Flagstaff’s hometown hill.

This season, probably, made that kind of extended push impossible. Arizona Snowbowl has seen 144 inches so far, or about half of what it sees during a regular season. Still, even with the less-than-cooperative weather, the resort is hustling to keep winter going a little longer.

Out West, other resorts are keeping the party going.

California just benefited from a late-season storm that blanketed spots like Mammoth Mountain and Palisades Tahoe. In Utah, Alta Ski Area, Snowbird, and a few others are rocking solid spring snowpacks. Brian Head’s even looking down the barrel of a spring storm that could produce 19 inches of snow this week.

As we’d hoped, April’s starting with the return of less wacky mountain weather. In many places that closed after the March heat wave, it’s arriving too late. But if you’re lucky enough to have an Arizona Snowbowl in your background, now’s the time to take advantage.

Once summer arrives, we’ll only have the memories of the powder we skied to keep us sane. So, we’d be hard-pressed to think of a better use for 12 bucks.
