Which Region of the United States Produces The Best Skiers? (Poll)
Good morning, skiers. POWDER'sDepartment of Polls and Skier Opinion is back with another weekly poll that should light a fire for the keyboard warriors out there.
We asked about preferred ski boot flex last week, and while I'm not surprised that the majority of our readers are advanced to expert-level skiers, I was slightly shocked at just how skewed the results were.
The findings and subsequent reflection on the results led me to the following question, in a way I can't exactly explain (my brain works in mysterious ways): Which Region Produces The Best Skiers?
There's no right or wrong answer, and my guess is the poll results will reflect hometown bias on your part, our beloved reader, but take a moment to consider the question. Are skiers from the East actually better due to the variety of conditions they encounter? Or, are the big mountain big dogs of the West and Rockies the cream of the crop?
For our Midwesterners, don't be afraid to stake your claim. Olympians Nick Goepper (Indiana) and Lindsey Vonn (Minnesota) both started their incredible careers on small hills in the middle of the country.
For our Canadian and European readers, feel free to chime in on this American-centric debate, and stay tuned for more polls in the future. The majority of weekly polls aren't specific to American skiers, FYI.
