Fellow pro skier and Jackson local Veronica Paulsen took to Instagram to pay tribute to Martin, whom she described as "one of the first friends" she made in Jackson ten years ago.
"I thought I’d share these memories to help us all feel close to Max during this tough day," wrote Paulsen. "You were one of the first friends I made in Jackson 10 years ago, and I’ll always be grateful for you inviting me to ski with you for that very first time. Since then, we’ve made memories I’ll cherish forever. We were lucky enough to travel all over the globe to ski together. I could always count on you to hype me up, coach me into lines, and always, ALWAYS make me laugh. Max was a pillar of the Jackson community and I can’t express how much he will be missed. Love you forever Max."
POWDER's Izzy Lidsky paid tribute to Martin on her Instagram story, writing, "Max was one of the first people I met in Jackson, and from the day we met, he had a massively positive impact in so many ways. One of the kindest, most positive, fun, encouraging, talented people and always, always uplifting others. Love you forever, bud."
POWDER will continue to update this page with more tributes to Martin throughout the week.
RIP Max Martin.
