Maple Ski Ridge ends season early due to weather

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Maple Ski Ridge in Schenectady announced on Thursday they will be ending their skiing and riding season early this year. In a post on social media, the business attributed the closure to unusually warm and wet weather the region has faced the last several weeks.
The "false spring" many communities have experienced has resulted in a lack of snowfall that is uncharacteristic for February and early March. Other snow sport venues and resorts in the region such as West Mountain and Jiminy Peak have also faced postponements and temporary suspensions of operation due to the weather.
