Wild Horses Gallop Across Ski Resort, Locals Don't Seem To Mind

We've seen viral videos of bears, deer, elk, moose, and other critters sprinting across ski slopes, but this is a first: wild horses.

Román De la Iglesia Rodríguez whipped out his phone while skiing at Sierra Nevada, Spain, the southernmost ski resort in Europe. The video, which was originally posted to TikTok, has a timestamp of April 17, 2026.

Sierra Nevada is the largest ski resort in Spain in terms of total slope length, 112.5 km (70 miles), and it is the southernmost ski resort on the continent.

Located just 30km from Granada, the ski resort reaches a peak elevation of 10,800 ft. (3,330m) and sports an impressive vertical drop of nearly 4,000 ft. (1,200m).

While the resort doesn't report an annual average snowfall, it's well-equipped with modern snowmaking and grooming equipment.

Sierra Nevada has 23 lifts and 139 named trails.

Located just across the Alboran Sea from the Sahara Desert, strong winds often coat Sierra Nevada's snow with sand and dust, as seen in the video above.
