Severe Weather Warning

Please note SLNC that the lodge and ticket office will be closed on December 27th due to expected frigid (below -30 day time) temperatures. 

With a severe cold warning in effect for BC, we will take some additional steps to ensure the safety of all skiers and snowshoers attending Sovereign this week. Outbuildings are all stocked with wood and the stoves are checked throughout the day. If you are using these spaces and notice the fire is low, please restock the woodstove.

Frostbite is a real concern with these temperatures so please make sure you carry the following with you.

• Carry hand and foot warmers in your pack.
• Bring water to stay hydrated. Your body loses moisture quickly when it is very cold.
• Keep exposed skin covered with a neck gaiter, frost tape.
• Bring extra mitts, neck gaiter, and toque for after your ski or snowshoe.
• When it is very cold it is best to classic ski or even better, snowshoe!
• Enjoy these cold days. We don’t get many of these each year.
