Aston Martin’s DBX is the car James Bond will buy when he finally settles down
WHEN Bond finally settles down, this is the car he’ll buy.
The DBX. Aston’s first luxury SUV with room for 2.4 kids and a dog.
Not only that, it has enough family gadgets to impress his old mate Q.
There’s a pet pack with portable washer, bike and ski racks, ski chains, event seating, picnic set, luggage set, Maxi-Cosi child seats and a gun cabinet for field sports and East London.
Pretty much everything you didn’t realise you needed. Now for the question you are all asking: How much is it?
That’ll be £158,000, Mr Bond, before any of the above.
But you do get a brutal 4-litre twin turbo V8 that produces 550hp and 770Nm of torque – eclipsing the performance of Aston’s own V8 sportscars. Yikes.
I’m also told it corners at hilarious speeds on par with a Vantage. Double yikes.
The obvious cherry being that it is four-wheel drive and so it will take you further off-road than any Aston has ever gone before.

Do be careful with it, Bond.
To finish on a serious note, there is a lot riding on this car. It has to be a success.
Aston has built a new factory in Wales to make DBX and it is crucial to the company’s future. You’ll see the DBX in all its glory in this column in two weeks.
