1 injured in overnight shooting, Troy PD investigating
TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The Troy Police Department is investigating an overnight shooting that left one injured. According to police, a 20-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to his torso.
Officers said patrols responded to an area near 4th and Monroe Streets for a reported shooting around 11:30 p.m Wednesday night. Upon arrival, they found the victim with a gunshot wound.
A preliminary investigation determined the victim was reportedly involved in a dispute that escalated with another person, outside a house near 4th and Monroe Streets. Officers said detectives are continuing to investigate Thursday morning by interviewing witnesses and reviewing possible evidence.
The victim was treated on scene by Troy firefighters before being transported to a hospital for further treatment. Officers said he is in stable condition, and his injuries are non-life-threatening.
