[Women's Soccer] Women's Soccer Falcons Suffer First Conference Loss at York

York, Neb. – The Friends University Falcons were tripped up for the first time in KCAC play this season as the York College Panthers squeaked by with a 1-0 win today (Oct. 22) in York, Neb.

The only goal of the match came right before halftime when Justine Medina scored off a corner kick at the 43:17 mark for the Panthers.

The Falcons were unable to find the back of the net despite out-shooting the Panthers 16-7 overall and 9-4 on-goal.

Paige Achey (JR/Wichita, Kan. ) led the Falcons (11-3, 8-1 KCAC) with a match-high five shot attempts.

Lauren Ferguson (SR/Wentzville, Mo. ) stopped three shots in the net for Friends, while Cassandra Martinez preserved the win for York (5-9, 4-4 KCAC) with seven saves.

The Falcons will look to get back on the winning track when they play their final road regular season game of the year at Bethany College Saturday evening (Oct. 26) at 5:30 pm.
