[Women's Soccer] Women's Soccer Falcons Play Swedes to Scoreless Draw

Lindsborg, Kan. The Friends University Falcons and Bethany College Swedes played to a 0-0, double-overtime draw in KCAC action today (Sept. 30) in Lindsborg, Kan.

It represents the second tie of the season for the Falcons, as Friends also pushed then No. 14-ranked and current No. 19-ranked Hastings College to a 1-1 draw back on Sept. 17.

The Falcons couldn't crack the scoreboard today despite dictating the tempo to the tune of out-shooting the Swedes 30-9 overall and 11-4 on-goal.  

Kaylee Gatzke (JR/Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Jazelle Gonzalez (JR/Dallas, Texas) each led the Falcons (3-3-2, 1-0-1 KCAC) with six shot attempts, with Hanna Gallant (SO/Arlington, Texas) recording five shots.

Rachel Sianez and Francesca Duckworth each had four shots to lead the Swedes (4-3-1, 1-0-1 KCAC).

Lauren Ferguson (SO/Holt, Mo.) made three saves in the net for Friends, while Jordan Wells helped the Swedes salvage the tie by stopping 11 shots.

The Falcons will next host McPherson College Wednesday evening (Oct. 4) at 6 pm at Adair-Austin Stadium.
