A1 Road closure 20-23rd April
The A1 will be closed over four nights in total starting Monday 20 April 2026.
A1 southbound Alconbury to Brampton Hut Monday 20 April 2026 for two nights, between 9pm and 5am, weather permitting.
A1 northbound Brampton Hut to Alconbury Wednesday 22 April 2026 for two nights, between 9pm and 5am, weather permitting.
Closures and diversions
To carry out the work safely, A1 southbound from Alconbury to Brampton Hut and the A1 northbound from Brampton Hut to Alconbury, will be closed and divert traffic as follows:
Southbound diversion route
- Follow the A1307 to Spittals Interchange
- From Spittals Interchange, follow the A141 to Brampton Hut
- Rejoin the A1 southbound at Brampton Hut
Northbound diversion route
- The diversion route for the A1 northbound closure is the same as the A1 southbound diversion route, but in reverse
