An Introduction to Navionics
An Introduction to Navionics is a practical, hands-on course designed to help participants confidently use Navionics for marine navigation and passage planning. Ideal for boat owners, recreational sailors, and those new to electronic navigation, the course provides a clear introduction to the features and functions of Navionics across chartplotters, tablets, and smartphones.
The course is delivered over four three-hour sessions on Tuesday evenings, allowing participants to build their skills progressively in a relaxed and supportive learning environment. Through guided demonstrations and practical exercises, students will learn how to interpret electronic charts, create and manage routes, use markers and tracks, and customise chart displays for safer and more efficient navigation.
By the end of the course, participants will have a strong understanding of how to use Navionics effectively for trip planning and on-the-water navigation, along with greater confidence in integrating electronic charts into their overall navigation practices.
