GC/EC 2026: Registration & Season 2025/26 What-to-Know
Dear Fellow Icesailors,
The icesailing season is now in full throttle! In the past few days, Finnish Icesailors have reported ice and are sailing the Johnny Köhler Cup and Independence Regattas this weekend in Vaala, Finland, on the Oulujärvi; meanwhile, in North America, the Western Challange is taking place on Lake Minnewaska in Starbuck, Minnesota.
Our member fleets are preparing an exciting hardwater season, so be sure to visit and subscribe to the DN Class Regatta Calendar not to miss out on any of the Fun!
If, for some reason, your national events are missing, please be sure to remind your national webmaster and secretary to upload them or reach out to us, and we’ll help if needed.
On behalf of IDNIYRA-EUROPE and the Polish Ice Sailing Fleet, we invite all iceboaters to compete in the DN World & European Championships & Euro-Cup 2026.
Please be sure that you have completed the following preparations to compete at the GC EC 2026:
1. Have you paid your membership for the 2025-26 season?
The days are getting colder and with the beginning of the hard-water season, our Membership fees are due!
Our Membership fee for the 2025-26 season remains €30.
In line with the Race Management Agreement, DN Class Regattas are open to any member in good standing of the IDNIYRA or IDNIYRA-Europe.
Members in Europe also have to be members of their National Icesailing Fleets.
Please check that you have activated your account for this season.
Only members with activated accounts are eligible to make Registration and online Event Entry to our events.
If you received an email of “completed renewal of subscription” on Dec.4th, please disregard it as it is for last season.
2. Have you submitted your Third-Party Liability Insurance for approval?
Please be aware of the upcoming deadline: Insurance-Check for Regular Entry will be done manually by our Insurance Manager until 2026.01.12 23.59 CET.
(This allows each sailor to get feedback about the validity of their insurance, so don’t leave it to the last minute.)
Only competitors who have uploaded their TPL Insurance until the insurance deadline will be able to make event entry at the regular price.
Please check our TPL insurance criteria and upload your insurance via your account. We do not accept insurance via email.
