Regional and National Race Officer Training Course
Irish Sailing invites all Local and Regional Race Officers to take part in our Regional and National Race Officer Training Course, taking place at Royal Cork Yacht Club on November 15–16.
This programme is offered only once every two years, making it a prime opportunity to advance your credentials and contribute meaningfully to our sport.

A pathway to formal qualification as a Regional or National Race Officer.

Who Should Attend?
This course is ideal for experienced Race Officers who are ready to:
Lead race teams at regional or national events.
Support the development of a higher standard of sailing and race management in their community.
Deepen their knowledge of the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) and how to run a regional or national championship event.
Qualification Overview
Regional Race Officer (RRO):
Successfully complete the Level 2 Race Management Course (this course)
70%+ pass on Race Officer exam (to be conducted at the completion of the course)
Experience at regional/principal events
Club recommendation
National Race Officer (NRO):
Successfully complete the Level 2 Race Management Course (this course)
90%+ pass on Race Officer exam (to be conducted at the completion of the course)
Experience at four principal events (including one outside home waters)
Recommendation from class association or event organiser
