VHF Courses
Please note that while a vhf licence is not a requirement by Irish Sailing in attaining your Dinghy Instructor certification, it is however a requirement if you are seeking employment as a Dinghy Instructor in the Royal Cork Yacht Club.
Please contact miriam@royalcork.com with your ‘Expression of Interest’ in a VHF course. Should we have sufficient interest we will endeavour to run a course.

Saturday 25th October (one day course)
Note to Dinghy Instructors: If your Dinghy Instructor certificate is out of date and no longer valid, we would encourage you to sign up for this course if you wish to pursue employment as a sailing instructor this Summer.
This course is literally around the corner and will not be run unless there is a minimum of 4 participants.
This course will be run by Irish Sailing here in the Royal Cork YC.

SBSS Dinghy Instructor Course
Monday 30th March – Friday 3rd April 2026
Course Cost €450 (Member) & €550 (Non Member)
Candidates must have the Pre Entry Assessment ( including National Powerboat, First Aid, Garda Vetting and Safeguarding 1) prior to participation on the course. This is non negotiable. Irish Sailing recommend all candidates have SBSS level 4 completed. This is a recommendation, not a requirement.
