Highfield Boats has expanded its lineup with the new Escape Series, an all-American fiberglass-hull RIB series designed for versatility, performance, and family-friendly boating. The first two models, the Escape 650 and Escape 750, were unveiled at Highfield Boats’ factory in Cadillac, Michigan, on September 12, 2025.

“These boats reflect our commitment to the U.S. market,” said Christophe Lavigne, President of Highfield Boats USA. “The Escape Series, featuring fiberglass hulls molded locally, then rigged and outfitted here in Cadillac, is the fulfillment of that vision.”

Highfield’s Escape Series combines a deep-V fiberglass hull with the safety and stability of a RIB, making them suitable both as primary dayboats or as tenders for larger yachts. The Escape 650 measures 23’6” and is available with 225hp or 250hp outboards, while the 26’6” Escape 750 can be powered by 250hp or 300hp outboards. Both models are projected to reach top speeds in the 50-mph range when equipped with maximum horsepower.

The boats feature contemporary styling, generous seating, and practical layouts. Ergonomic helm seats include high sides and flip-up bolsters, and dashboards are sized for large multifunction displays. Bow and aft cockpits offer forward- and rear-facing seating, sunpads, and ample storage, including under seats and inside the console. The Escape 750 also integrates a standard anchor windlass under the cushioned bow step. Optional hardtops provide shade without compromising side-deck access for fishing or boarding.

“Highfield Boats is the world’s leading builder of aluminum-hull RIBs,” Lavigne noted. “The Escape Series continues our effort to offer versatile, safe, and accessible boats that can serve as primary craft or tenders for yacht owners.”

For Cruising World readers, the Escape Series represents a step beyond typical tenders. While these boats may function as second boats for many sailors, their performance, layout, and comfort could appeal to families or cruising sailors seeking a fast, stable, and versatile RIB for coastal cruising, watersports, or exploring shallow anchorages.
