SailGP fans in the United States will once again have the chance to see the foiling F50s in action close to home. The league has confirmed that New York City will host SailGP on May 30–31, 2026, with a second U.S. stop already scheduled for June 5–6, 2027.

The announcement places New York firmly back on the championship’s calendar after several years away, giving American fans a front-row seat to the high-speed spectacle along the Hudson River. The return comes as part of SailGP’s wider effort to build a long-term, stable global circuit with recurring venues in iconic sailing destinations.

In addition to the New York events, the 2026–27 calendars include a new multi-year commitment in Rio de Janeiro, where racing will unfold against one of the world’s most recognizable coastlines. Germany’s Sassnitz, fresh off a sold-out debut this year, is also confirmed as a repeat venue in both 2026 and 2027.

Other long-term commitments include Perth, Australia, through 2028; Bermuda, with dates locked in through 2028; and Portsmouth, U.K., for 2026 and 2027. Dubai and Abu Dhabi remain fixtures for season finales, while perennial stops such as Sydney, Auckland, Saint-Tropez, and Cádiz continue to round out the circuit.

“As we grow SailGP into a truly global sports property, these long-term commitments with key venues are a critical step in delivering a world-class experience year after year,” said SailGP CEO Russell Coutts.

The 2026 season will open in Perth in January before traveling through Oceania, the Americas, and Europe, with New York positioned as a midseason highlight. The year will conclude in the Middle East with events in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

For cruising and racing enthusiasts alike, the news ensures more opportunities to experience SailGP’s blend of cutting-edge foiling and iconic sailing backdrops—whether in person in New York, Rio, or from afar as the league continues its global expansion.
