Last Saturday delivered the kind of weather we dream about all year — blue skies, calm seas, and temperatures climbing into the mid-twenties. With such a promising forecast, the Royal Cork Yacht Club didn’t miss a beat, seizing the opportunity to host a spontaneous pop-up beach day at the beautiful White Bay. And what a day it turned out to be!

The call went out, and our members responded in force. The coastline around White Bay quickly became a picturesque scene, dotted with RCYC boats and filled with the sounds of laughter, splashing, and the sizzle of burgers on the grill. Families and members from all sections of the club came together, soaking up the sun and making the most of one of the finest days of the summer so far.

A big shout-out goes to Amy and her team, who once again delivered in style with BBQ supplies and refreshments, keeping everyone fuelled and refreshed. As the BBQs fired up, a friendly scramble began for the best grilling spots, with members working together to get their sausages and burgers cooked just right.

It was one of those simple but unforgettable days — great company, great weather, and a stunning setting. If the sun decides to grace us with another weekend like this before summer’s end, you can be sure we’ll be heading back to the beach again.
