Mustang Survival Launches Elite 120 and 190 Inflatable Life Jackets
Mustang Survival has introduced two new inflatable personal flotation devices (PFDs) to its product line: the Elite 120 and Elite 190. Building on the success of the company’s Atlas 190 DLX, these additions are designed to offer advanced safety features in lighter, lower-profile formats suited for a broad range of marine users—from inshore anglers to offshore sailors.
Both PFDs incorporate Mustang Survival’s ADAPT bladder system, designed for enhanced in-water performance, and are certified to the Harmonized Level 70 standard recognized by both the U.S. Coast Guard and Transport Canada. The certification allows the vests to be used in a wider range of boating environments and eases travel between the U.S. and Canada.
The Elite 120 is a reengineered version of Mustang’s existing Elite 28 and provides 28 lbs (120 Newtons) of buoyancy. Its design includes a breathable mesh back, shortened torso length to prevent ride-up, and a chassis that stays off the neck for improved comfort during high-speed or long-duration wear. It is targeted at coastal cruisers, anglers, and fast boaters.
The Elite 190 offers 42 lbs (190 Newtons) of buoyancy—matching the Atlas 190—but in a slightly pared-down design. The model supports additional safety accessories such as AIS and PLB integration, optional spray hood, leg straps, and an emergency light. It is intended for offshore boaters, ocean sailors, and long-distance cruisers who need higher buoyancy with a streamlined fit.
Both vests use Mustang’s Hydrostatic Inflator Technology (HIT), which automatically activates inflation only when submerged in 4 inches or more of water—helping prevent accidental deployment from rain, spray, or humidity. The inflator unit remains maintenance-free for up to five years.
According to the company, the Elite series addresses common barriers to PFD wear, offering a more ergonomic profile and lighter build that testers have reported is easy to wear for extended periods. The two new models are available now:
- Elite 120: 28 lbs buoyancy, MSRP $299.99 USD
- Elite 190: 42 lbs buoyancy, MSRP $324.99 USD
The full lineup, which also includes the Atlas 190, reflects Mustang Survival’s ongoing efforts to provide flotation solutions for a wide range of users and boating activities.More information can be found at mustangsurvival.com.
