Pegasus Yachts Unveils Owner‑Focused 67‑Foot Offshore Cruiser
Pegasus Yachts has introduced the Pegasus 67, a 67‑foot (20.5 m) bluewater cruising yacht optimized for shorthanded and family sailing. The 67 builds on Pegasus’s DNA—found in the successful 50‑footer line—with added sailspeed, onboard autonomy, and family-friendly space. With a dry weight around 46,300lb (21 metric tonnes) and beam of 18.4 ft (5.6 m), the new model prioritizes usability, onboard autonomy, and refined performance—all without the need for a full crew or maintenance-intensive systems.
The 67 incorporates a streamlined hull with moderate draft (9.8 ft) and twin carbon rudders, aimed at enhancing control in marinas and offshore. According to the builder, designers reduced overall displacement to ease sail handling and lower rig and mast loads, while retaining standing heights above 6.5 ft below deck. A longitudinal dinghy garage and hydraulic gangway are integrated within an extended transom, maximizing functionality without compromising hull form.
Pegasus emphasizes simplicity and independence. According to the company, dual technical rooms—one for electrics beneath the interior helm station and another for pumps and water systems—ensure maintenance access and redundancy. Owners planning extended time aboard can choose between three- or four-cabin layouts accommodating up to eight guests, with the forward cabin dedicated to owners and separate guest cabins aft.
While not designed as a racer, the 67 delivers “fast, soft, and safe” cruising thanks to naval architecture from JuanK Designs and optimized rigs and appendages. From what Pegasus terms a “VPP-optimized” hull to lighter sail plans, every choice aims at efficiency across wind ranges from 5 to 40 knots. Lines and winches are routed for easy single- or double-handed operation, with key controls at the helm.
As we’ve seen on Pegasus’ current model, the Pegasus 50—which will make its North American debut at this fall’s Annapolis Sailboat Show—comfort and versatility remain central themes. A full-weather cockpit with windshield and composite roof links to the salon via sliding glass doors, offering a spacious indoor-outdoor living area. Inside, a gimbaled settee adjusts to heel angle for stable seating, and dual helm operation ensures dry navigation even in rough conditions.
Construction is slated to begin later this year, with Hull No. 1 expected in 2027.
