Darkness Into light Harbour Cruise.
On the morning of the 10th of May, 21 boats left the Royal Cork Yacht Club marine at 05:00hrs to participate in the Darkness into light fundraising event.
We were led by our Admiral on board Gem where the Carrigaline Choral choir accompanied Annemarie. They were fantastic entertainment for the duration of the cruise.

I would like to especially thank Mary Malone for organising this special gathering and to the choir for their entertainment and very kind donation of nearly €1000 to our fund.
Once out by Camden we turned for Roches point. At this stage it was bright, and the sea state was incredibly calm. It was a great morning to be on the water and experience our magnificent harbour at its best. When we were passing Graball Bay we could see the Crosshaven shore-based Darkness into Light event tracking along the beech and up the pathway to Camden. It was a great sight and showed how this great fundraiser gets people out together for a great cause. We then approached Roches point where pods of Dolphins appeared. It was a great moment. The choir sang some songs, and we all took in the beautiful surrounds.
Our plan was then to go across to Myrtleville. When we arrived here, we were met by a bunch of Myrtleville swimmers standing on the Dutchman rock enjoying their morning swim. They were also part of this fantastic event. It was now time to return to the club where we would be served some light refreshments and chat about the time just spent on the water.
I would like to thank everyone involved in organising this magnificent event, from club staff to club members and to all who took part and donated toward this great cause. Looking forward to seeing you all again next year on the water.I am glad to report, together we raised a total of €3,903.00 for Pieta…
