Royal Cork Yacht Club 420 Class Continues to grow

0 4

As the cold winter evenings draw upon us, the RCYC 420 Class have certainly had a busy autumn after a successful season at the club. Following on from the incredibly successful Tri National Championships where 33 420’s raced for 3 days in Cork Harbour and 19 sailors from RCYC.

There was no rest for the sailors with the At Home regatta and then into their autumn/winter coaching program.  During this, sailors have attended events around the country and UK to further develop their skills and experience with the Halloween Coaching Camp in Lough Derg YC, Ulster Championships in Malahide YC and the UK End of Season Championships at Grafham Water SC. The fleet now focus on its winter program which takes place every Sunday through to the racing season next year with a couple of overseas events in the UK,  Imperia and San Remo. The 420 Class is continuing to go from strength to strength with new sailors trying out and loving the boat.  It offers enjoyable, technical and competitive racing both at club and national level.  Our fleet has grown from 2 boats in September 2023 to 13 boats and counting to date.

If your sailor is interested in getting involved with the class then please get in contact and we will get you out on the water.
