Isles of Scilly Cruise 2024

0 7

On the June weekend 10 boats departed our shores bound for the Isles of Scilly.
With a northerly wind blowing all boats had a safe passage and made good time. We landed in Tresco on Friday morning and enjoyed the afternoon ashore exploring the beautiful island.
Late afternoon we went across by dingy to Bryher and visited the famous hostelry, Fraggle Rock. Returning to the New Inn on Tresco for Dinner. This was a great time for all crews to meet and share their stories about the trip down, and yes there was many.
The next day at high tide (13:00) we travelled across the Tresco Flats, which dry out at low tide. Some boats went straight to Hugh Town on St Maryland while some went for lunch to St Agnes. St Agnes is a beautiful spot with a safe anchorage and lovely views over the Islands. The weather throughout the whole trip was magnificent.
On Saturday evening all the crews joined for dinner in the Mermaid Restaurant, where lots of fun was had. Unfortunately, due to heavy northerly winds forecast for Tuesday we decided to return back to Cork on Sunday, a good decision. The trip back was relatively easy as the winds were light, and the engines were on.
I would like to thank all those who participated in the cruise and hope they all enjoyed the adventure of sailing to the Isles of Scilly. Stay tunes for other such adventures this season which you might like to join. On Saturday 15th June we are planning to go to Oysterhaven for lunch and onto Kinsale that evening.
Looking forward to seeing you all out there on the Ocean having Fun.
