Maine Yacht Center purchases Gamage Shipyard

Maine Yacht Center, a full-service boat yard and marina is purchasing  Gamage Shipyard in South Bristol, Maine. The acquisition is scheduled to be finalized on June 28, according to a Maine Yacht Center press release

Maine Yacht Center, in Portland, Maine, has been in business for over 20 years. they offer winter storage and summer dockage in Casco Bay and have a staff of 40 full-time qualified marine technicians to provide a full range of boat yard services, from routine maintenance to large scale refit projects. The marina draws customers from around New England.

“Our customers rely on MYC for our high level of customer service and the quality of our workmanship,” the release stated.

“We recognize the entire Gamage team for their commitment to the working waterfront and service to the local boating community. The team, like much of Mid-Coasts’ waterfront worked double duty during the past months bringing back the facility to operational capability following the damage from the January storms.”

The marina’s owners plan to add qualified marine technicians to enhance the service capabilities of Gamage Shipyard and continue to improve the facilities.

“We will carry on the long-standing tradition and continue to operate the business under the Gamage Shipyard name,” the release stated, noting that current Gamage customers will experience a smooth transition.

“After closing, we look forward to meeting existing customers as well as new or returning customers and providing you with quality service over the summer months and winter storage and maintenance to follow.”
