Coaching for Optimist sailors during the September series
The National Yacht Club will be providing coaching for Optimist Sailors for four Saturday/Sunday afternoons 13:00 – 16:00
Saturday 3rd / Sunday 4th
Saturday 10th / Sunday 11th
Saturday 17th / Sunday 18th
Saturday 24th / Sunday 25th
Please read the descriptions carefully to ensure you book in for the right level (scroll down for booking form).
1) Minors – Saturday OR Sunday
This course is for sailors who have completed the NYC Nippers/equivalent previously, but have NOT yet passed their Level 1/Start Sailing + is comfortable, willing to be able to be sailing their own boat on their own + has access to their own boat (charter boat available).
This group will NOT be racing September series.
The cost for this course is Euro 100.00 per child
2) Start Sailing – Saturday OR Sunday
This course is for sailors who have completed the NYC Nippers/equivalent previously, but have just passed their Level 1/Start Sailing + is comfortable, willing and able to sailing their own boat on their own + has access to their own boat (charter boat also available). Aim is to get back on the water, get more confidence and get to know more.
This group will NOT be racing September series.
The cost for this course is Euro 100.00 per child
3) Start Racing – Sunday ONLY
This course is for sailors who have completed their Level 1/Start Sailing qualification + is able to sail a triangular course + has access to their own boat + WANT to take part in the Sunday afternoon races (held inside the harbour).
These sailors will be competing in the Sunday afternoon races and have an instructor guiding them whilst participating in the Sunday afternoon races + these sailors will have to register for the Sunday afternoon races separately (additionally) online here.
The cost for this course is Euro 45.00 per child
Note you will also have to register and pay for the Sunday afternoon races separately
Note that each child must have access to their own boat. Charter Optimists (limited availability) are available to book in the form (€60 for the 4 dates).
