Congratulations to Peter Ryan on being Awarded Afloat.ie “Sailor Of The Month”.

2021 started with the announcement on Friday that Peter Ryan has been awarded “Sailor of the Month” by Afloat.ie – the voice of all things nautical and marine in Ireland.

Peter and his in laws, the Horgans, have given decades of service to the National Yacht Club but this award was made to acknowledge his great leadership of the ISORA (Irish Sea Offshore Racing Assoc.) during 2020.

NYC Commodore Martin McCarthy commented: “Peter richly deserves this award.  He has been incredibly innovative is designing and executing an exciting series of ISORA races – within the guidelines and needs of the Irish Cruiser Racers who partook.  Peter has also very instrumental in the Fastnet 450 race – our biggest offshore celebration of our 150^th, which was a joint SCORA / ISORA / RCYC and NYC event.”
