Union get a taste of what it is like to play on Monday Night

Game Updates:

95’+5’ - Final Whistle and the Union escape with 3 points. B

90+4’ - Lee Nguyen dancing in the box and then sends the ball sailing over the net.

90+1 - Polster earns himself a yellow for shoving Monteiro down. Union earn themselves a free kick. Monteiro fires it fong range but it is wide of the net.

90’ - We will have a significant amount of extra time as the fourth official signals 5 minutes.

89’ - Matt Real comes in to replace Kai Wagner.

88’ - Monteiro earns himself a yellow card for... well I don’t know.

85’ - Blake sets up the wall and then he stretches out to make the save!

83’ - Game almost leveled as Buchanan is called offsides and his goal is waived off.

80’ - Union players backing off of Buchanan and he makes them pay with a rocket to the back of the net. Shutout is over and revs pull within 1.

78’ - Fontana and Przybylko are subbed out and replaced by Wooten and returning number 17, Corey Burke!

77’ - Ref now talking to Kessler after the ball goes out of play and Kessler tries to rip the ball out of Aaronson’s hands.

76’ - Union win a free fick on the right wing after Diego Fagundez fouls Fontana.

74’ - Buchanan called for a handball.

69’ - GOOOOAAAALLLLL Anthony Fontana! Talk about a tough angle, Fontana ships it over Turner and it goes into the back of the net. Union up by 2.

68’ - We almost had a Gaddis goal, we were SOOOOO close to it.

65’ - Bunbury tried to head it into the net but Andre Blake makes his first huge save of the night.

59’ - New England making a double switch here Fagundez and Polster replace McNamara and Caldwell.
Union taking out Santos and replacing him with Ilsinho.

57’ - After allowing a lot of physical play the ref gives Sergio Santos a yellow card.

52’ - Cross from the left side of the pitch is headed down by Rev’s Adam Buksa which goes wide of the net.

51’ - Aaronson comes across the 18 yard box to close down and win the ball off of the Revs.

46’ - Second Half is underway at 8:41.

45+1’ - We will have 1 minute of stoppage time. Union look to get aaway with a handball in off the cross.

45’ - Jones sends the ball straight up the right side of the pitch to a running Bunberry, who crosses the ball and it goes out for a corner.

43’ - Monteiro sends it into the 18 yard box and Glesnes gets a head on it but the ball is easily handled by the goal keeper.

42’ - Aaronson jugles the ball, gets pushed over and earns a free kick.

41’ - Fontana draws a foul at the center circle.

40’ - Union coutering and Monteiro and McNamara look to get tangled up on the tackle. No cards given, looks like we are in for a scrappy match.

34’ - Wagner with a low cross from outside to the center of the box where Andrew Farrell slides to try and block the ball... But it goes into the NET for an own Goal!

33’ - Union finally getting forward with numbers and after everyone got too fancy in the box instead of shooting the ball is cleared out.

32’ - McKenzie looks like he got away with a foul, and probably a yellow card.

24’ - Union on a counter attack and it is immediately stopped by the Revs. Union still struggling to get the attack started.

21’ - Another corner for the Revs and Buttner sends his shot way over the net.

17’ - Wagner does not look happy after that missed assignment had him blocking a shot with his back.

15’ - Thankfully Jones decided to pass there, that could have been dangerous for Blake.

12’ - The ball is sent in low and gets cleared out by the Union.

11’ - New England from the left side of the pitch crosses it into the penalty area which is headed out for a corner.

9’- Ellott with a wonderful ball to Aaronson, who miss handles the first touch recovers and gets a shot off. That shot was easily stopped by Revs goal keeper.

7’ - Aaronson and Fontana are way to close at the top of the box that when Aaronson tries to settle a cross he can’t get a shot off. Pryzbylko tries to do some creative work inside the box on the right and can’t get a shot off.

4’ - Wagner goes down after Jones runs right into him.

1’ - We have the MLS version of Monday Night Football with the fourth time the Revs and Union have meet this season.
