Mark Magsayo looking for a new opponent as Haro retires

Sadly it appears there is another bump in the road for unbeaten Filipino hopeful Mark Magsayo (20-0, 14), who's career has certainly hasn't been plain sailing so far. Over the last few years he has been held back by ALA and fought a legal battle for his freedom, which lead to him having some real inactivity that slowed his rise through the ranks.
The hope had been a recently inked contract with MP Promotions would get Magsayo back on track and the plan had been for him to fight on September 23rd against American fighter Jose Haro (15-1-1, 8). That bout looked to be signed, sealed and delivered and looked like a great match up for Magsayo's first bout of 2020. Then it got delayed from September to October 3rd.
Sadly that bout is now off all together, with Haro announcing he had retired, due to "family matters" and wouldn't be competing against Magsayo as planned.
Haro revealed that his child didn't want him to fight any more, and given his wife is expecting another child later in the year it's understandable that his priorities in life aren't his boxing career.
At the moment the plan is still to have Magsayo compete on October 3rd, though an opponent has not yet been announced for the talented Filipino youngster. Sadly it's hard to imagine a better opponent than Haro on such short note.
