Admiral’s update to Members Saturday 16th May 2020

Dear Member,

Following An Taoiseach’s announcement yesterday and our Club Executive Committee meeting this morning, I can now confirm that we have now published our Return to Sailing document, click here to view.

On Monday next the outdoor staff will return to work and needless to say there is a mountain of work to get through to ensure that everything is ship shape. I would therefore ask that you bear with us for the initial few days. Obviously there may be questions and clarification sought, so I would ask that in the first instance you direct these to Gavin Deane, Mark Ring or your respective Class Captains. The Vice Admiral and I hosted a Q&A call this afternoon for Class Captains/Committee Members and took them through the Return to Sailing document.

While it is certainly good news that we are seeing the commencement of the lifting of restrictions, it is incumbent on all of us to ensure we are resolute in our adherence to both the Social Distancing and Travel restrictions. In doing so we will contribute to the gradual safe return to our sport which I know is the overwhelming wish of us all.
