2019 IODAI Munsters at the Waterford Bay SC

0 3

Day 1 IODAI Munsters WHSC started out overcast but warm with good wind. All the sailors launched swiftly and made their way to the courses. Race 1 completed with shifting winds, race 2 had to have a course adjustment which remained settled for race 3 the final race of the day. A long rough day out on the water with wind over tide, but no issues. The sailors de-rigged and headed for food!

Day 2 of the IODAI Munsters started with the wind building early on with a forecast for stronger winds later in the day. The racing started as soon as the Oppies made it to the racecourse for 10:25. The OD managed to get in 3 races, the sailors managed to complete the 3 races mostly too! It was a trying sea state with huge rollers coming in the bay. A huge ‘well done’ to all the sailors, they all did extremely well. The RCYC had 3 trophy winners at the event:

Jamie Venner 4th Senior Gold
Craig O’Neill Jnr 2nd Senior Silver
James Dwyer Matthews 1 Senior Gold

Well done guys!

A huge thanks to the wonderful hospitality of all at the Waterford Bay Sailing Club #WBSC and all the volunteers who helped make this event s great success!
