Charter for the World ARC 2020

0 5

No boat, no worries. It’s possible to charter a 105-foot yacht to take part in one or all 13-legs of the World ARC 2020. Pacific Expeditions is offering its aluminum ketch S/V Apache for up to eight guests per leg to join its expert resident crew to enjoy a sailing experience of a lifetime. Guests can sign on as individuals, couples or as a group.

“Apache is the ultimate ocean-going sailing vessel, unique in its speed, comfort and safety, and an ideal platform on an incredible round the world voyage. This opportunity allows guests to sail with a fleet of boats in the World ARC, make lifelong sailing friends and visit remote destinations, many places only accessible by boat,” says Apache’s captain, Gerrit Scheper, a RYA/MCA Master of Yachts. Scheper is also a qualified RYA instructor, so expedition members can add expert training and ‘mile building’ to this bluewater experience.

The 13-leg World ARC rally starts in St Lucia in January 2020; taking crews across the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal, across the Pacific to Australia, the Indian Ocean to Cape Town, the Atlantic to Brazil then back up to the Caribbean. The price per person per leg is US $7000. Exceptions are the shorter final leg in 2021 (Grenada to St. Lucia via the Windward Islands) at $4900 and the longest leg (Tahiti to Tonga) at $8000. There’s also a special offer for two people to sail on Apache for the entire 2020 World ARC. The price for an individual Round-the-World Pass is $76,000 (a substantial discount off the 13-leg total of $89,900.) www.pacificexpeditions.com, www.worldcruising.com
