Secret Bay Picnic

0

A message from George Morris;

The Secret Bay sailing and social event is planned for this Sunday, the 6th August. Depending on numbers, we have to decide whether it is viable and worthwhile.

Sunday's dinghy race is planned to terminate at the Secret Bay so there should be some people there if only on the committee boat. I would like some cruisers, day boats, Drascombes, kayaks etc to anchor off and add some colour - it is deep and steep-to there. I would like people who do not usually do much on the water to get into a RIB and pop across. I would like someone to light a BBQ and bring some sausages but this is not vital. The rescuers will provide a shuttle service too and from the club. The taxi will be on demand by radio and telephone.

So, is it going to happen? Quite large numbers are going to Belladrum which will remove at least one yacht and about fifteen people from the equation but there must be others. With my name on it, I want to ensure the event is a success, so before I sign it off I want to know if there are people out there who are at least mildly interested.

Would you therefore send me an email if you might come (on a decent day, bearing in mind that even in a westerly gale it is sheltered over there). I would like half a dozen expressions of interest and if I get them I will proceed, otherwise we will just have a couple of triangles round the inner marks and then go home in a miasma of uselessness.
