Hull Drain Plug on Deck

I have a mid 70 Sunfish with the hull drain plug mounted on the deck. I don’t know the last time it was opened but it does have damage to the screw slots making it hard to get a good grip. How much torque can that plug housing take before it rips out of the fiberglass? I think I need to leave that plug alone and maybe add a new one somewhere else. Any advice will be appreciated.
