Mainsheet Traveler repair & replacement needed.

Yesterday, the wind was OK, so why not a pleasant "safe" sail. Before venturing out I noticed the end of the traveler (where it fixes to the mainsheet line) was frayed. Of about 10 strands of wire, there were about 2 left. Well, it wasn't too windy, so a plastic tie will hold it. As luck would have it, the wind came up and I found myself trapezing out to prevent a capsize and praying the plastic tie would hold (Thank the Lord it did!).
