Sailing on port tack …

I have a hard time with it. The sail looks so awful it messes with my head. Any tips? Do you sheet in more or less? What visual cues or feel cues do you use to know you are trimmed well?

Also I have been looking at my gps track after sailing. The boat definitely doesn’t tack through 90 degrees. It’s a good amount less, like 70?

Is this everyone else’s experience as well?
