I have acquired two (new to me) early 1970’s Lasers

I want to rehabilitate and bring both boats up to ship shape standard. There is some work to do…one has a leaky mast step, but neither hull hit every rock in the lake, so mostly scuffed. I refinished one wood rudder and centreboard, not the other yet, but also picked up a 1980’s fibreglass rudder/centreboard, sails and mast-boom for $75 (a great deal). Should I just sail these old boats as is or spend the time to reinforce potential wear spots and refinish the gel coats? Peter
