Sail but no mast and no boom

So, I acquired a Tender,,, a rowing boat/dinghy 10 feet long a 1960 -ish Dipper, made in Openshaw, Manchester. There is a sail measuring 13 feet from top to bottom . The sail has a sleeve to accommodate a mast so I intend making one from Douglass Fir in three sections. (17' long) I've decided to add a boom and having a pocket made and added to the foot of the sail to accomodate it, The sail is 7' along the foot so the boom will be 7'6".
