Flying Scot vs Lightning

How would you compre sailing the Flying Scot vs a Lightning ? What about general ownership issues. I will be keeping the boat at a float which does not have water at low tide.
I am 66 yo with moderate experience in good physical condition, sailing mostly in protected waters in Maine.
