Restaining wood pieces on my 14.2

So the season is almost upon me and I'm looking to start getting some upgrades done. I've got a line now on a cuddy hatch. Thanks Fatissimo. But my wood trim pieces were worn when I got her. And seeing as I might have to remove the farther aft piece to install the hatch I'm thinking of just taking both pieces and getting them restained and varnished. Just wondering for those that might have already done this what recommendations for good stain/varnish. I'm not looking for cheap and easy but...
